One of my favorite moments from HYROX was hearing family and friends cheering from the sidelines. Sometimes that extra encouragement is exactly what you need to keep going…with a smile on your face.

I competed in my first HYROX this weekend and it reminded me of a few things I talk about with patients all the time:
- pacing matters more than people think
- hybrid racing requires both strength and endurance my endurance background helped me the most!
- fuel yourself appropriately. Can’t speak to this enough, cramps started kicking in after rows. I quickly had to replenish!

Getting PRP to my knee/IT band today as part of my running recovery (Part 2)
I’m using this downtime to strengthen the area and focus on rebuilding! PRP is made from your own blood and is meant to support the body’s natural healing process. Everyone’s experience and result is different, so please speak with a medical professional about what’s best for you.
Recovery for me will be focused on strengthening, and gradual return-to-run!
If you’re curious about the experience or recovery, feel free to send a message.

Come with me to get PRP for my IT band as a marathoner runner (Part 1)
I’ve had IT band pain (outside of my knee) since finishing my marathon training cycle, likely from a mix of mileage, mechanics, and load. I’m using this downtime to focus on recovery and strength work, and today PRP.
This video shows the lead-up/preparation: hydrating, heading into work, and getting my blood drawn so the platelet-rich portion can be prepared for my injection later. PRP is made from your own blood and may support the body’s natural healing process.
Sharing my experience for education only. PRP isn’t FDA-approved, and results can be different for each person.
Ever wonder what’s actually happening inside a sore knee?
Here’s a peek at how I use diagnostic ultrasound to spot inflammation, fluid, and tendon changes — in real time.
Whether you’re healing from an injury or want to train smarter, this is how we get the answers that help our patients move better.
