ASW 2025 Bay Area Edition was one to remember.
šš½ Thank you to all the folks that believed in me & allowed me to participate doing what I do best.
Looking forward to SB 26ā
Progression brings Perspective & these days, Iām finding appreciation in the little things.
Iāve spent the last two years dialing in my creative toolkit & the Mini Lock by @kondorblue has been a very welcome addition for my camera builds lately.
Buy onceā¦cry once. š¢ @smallhd Ultra 5
After a couple years of running an Atomos Ninja V as my on-camera & wireless monitor solution, it was about time to upgrade. I had a couple āwantsā in my replacement.
I absolutely needed a slim design (compared to the Ninja Vās bulky af SDI solution), SDI/HDMI loop out, functional focus peaking, and as many NITs as possible.
Enter the @smallhd Ultra series. Adding the Ultra 5 & Ultra 7 to my arsenal & retiring my Ninja Vās to backup/multicam monitors was one of the best decisions I could have made a couple months ago. Having SmallHDās selective focus peaking (where only the part āin-focusā appears sharper on the monitor) saved me countless times on the back-to-back docs Iāve worked over the past few months. Camera control & 3000nits have just been the icing on top.
Now that Iām finally back to the homeland, Iām looking forward to updating to Page OS 6 & hopefully rocking with these as my main monitors for the next few years!
Whatās your dream monitor in 2025?
Had to level up my direct storage solutions with the Express 4M2 @poweredbyowc
Typically I only shoot between 2-4 TBs per project which lets me comfortably operate with your typical external ssd. But 16+ TBs of data called for a better solution.
And yes I knowā¦proxies. But the way I operate, Iād rather have a copy of all the footage with me. Plus once this edit is wrapped Iāll be able to keep a couple projects on a single drive!
If anyoneās found a better solution, lemme know in the comments!
DJI Pocket Osmo 3
@djiglobal
Took some product focused shots of the DJI Pocket Osmo 3 before we start mounting it to cars & bikes.
Have you tried the Pocket Osmo 3?
š„ Big cameras are amazing but sometimes the small ones can pack a punch also šš½
Going to be testing out the @djiglobal Osmo Pocket 3 over the next couple weeks to see how it fits in the workflow as a specialty cam, BTS cam and possibly A cam.
Have you used or tried the Osmo Pocket 3? Curious to hear who feels like theyāre getting the max out of this sensor and their preferred workflow!

Sundays in San Francisco
A couple days late but now is better than never. Enjoy some more choppy zooms and vibes from SF.

Digging through the archives here.
I captured all of these clips on a tech scout in Sacramento a couple months back. Itās always interesting grading clips shot at the absolute worst time of the day in terms of lighting but l love making the most of whatever I have. Kept it clean for this setā¦no grainā¦no halationā¦no depth mapping. Well, aside from the lil easter egg I threw in there to spice things up. Shout out to @pixelpancho for the canvas to create with & enjoy these choppy zooms & this entire sequence. If you read this farā¦leave me a comment letting me know what you think šš½

šØa quick timelapse of the test build š§
I've been using the @tiltamax Hydra paired with the @djiglobal RS2 Pro quite a bit lately. Once you get things dialed, it's the closest thing to smooth sailing for simple rollers & basic rigging without breaking the bank. Looking forward to testing the updated Hydra Alien Pro in the near future! š @tiltamax
Don't worry, never flying without rachet straps + more.

Got to work with @gabriellathemanager to help elevate some social media assets for @devillemovie
Hereās:
1. An early draft that got shelved in favor of a more appropriately lit stock asset.
2. All of the final assets comped & edited by @gabriellathemanager
3. A clean version of the intro animation
4. A quick peek into the AE project I built the animation components in
It was a fun process to be able to take an idea from concept to delivery while working on a crunched timeline and limited assets.
Shoutout to the entire team for getting the film this far! šš½šš½ Looking forward to the world getting to see it and its festival run.
BTS Doc on the way. Go sign up for the newsletter and stay tuned!
