Since returning from my trip to Bali, Indonesia to teach augmented reality integration with murals and designs at the @mural_nomad mural retreat I’ve been feeling so inspired, motivated and blessed. I through this video recap together as I reflected on the many lessons learned on this journey fueled by a love for creating and sharing art with others. I’m definitely overlooking plenty of rad moments and murals, but I’ll be sure to include them all in a long format version on YouTube in the near future.

Just finished this whimsical forest mural for @sticks_and_sprouts and couldn’t be more pleased with how to turned out. This mural was extra special for me since I have attend both my nephews’ classes here, so to get an opportunity to make their shed look like a magical moment in the woods was a treat.
This mural depicts their opossum puppet, Petunia, having a magical adventure in the near by woods where there is an adorable pond in the midst of the trees.
Yes, I tucked in a tiny Taoh symbol from @pieceforpeace_movement as a way of blessing the tiny humans this mural is for with peaceful energies.

While enjoying the day with my mom in Manasquan NJ, I got to visit my great blue heron mural aka Manny the Heron and test the augmented reality aspect. As you can see in this video, the animation plays smoothly when holding your phone pointed at the wall using the @artiviveapp , so it works!
I’m definitely looking forward to more opportunities where I can integrate augmented reality experiences into the design.
Fun fact: The origins of Mother’s Day is a great rabbit hole to go down. I just learned that started as a call to action for mothers to demand peace as a way of protecting their children and other nations mother’s children from war. It also became a holiday in the United States after a woman’s prolific campaign of sending thousands of letters to politicians seeking a day to honor the sacrifices women, particularly mothers, make for our communities. So as a way of honoring your mother or mothers in general, consider writing a letter to a politician seeking peace or with ways to improve your community.

The other day after watching the @secretwalls 90 minute art battles during @the1moto I was inspired to challenge myself to paint the homies van in under 90 minutes. I got this done in a little more than an hour and even had time to set up my @grandtrunkgoods hammock before the time was up. It was an absolute treat to blast out a van mural, do some hammock camping with friends in the Mount Hood National Forest and to go snowboarding in May all within 24 hours.
One day, when @ron_john_silver and @frontboard are featured on @thebombhole for being rad snowboarders, I hope they mention this story.

Painted a wizard with a feeesh in its orb today at the DIY spot near me. This quarter is about 5’ tall with almost a foot of vert, so it’s steeper than it looks.
Yes, the skin tones are inspired by the hillsides currently being covered in massive blooms of Lupine.

Painted two murals yesterday. As I was finishing the totem pole piece, @bochicaart came through so obviously we had to collaborate on a piece. After about 3 seconds of talking about our vision for the piece we jumped right into painting and even worked through moments of rain to get this piece done. It’s always a treat to collaborate with talented artists with that also have over 20 years experience painting murals!
