A house that can be revived again and again
More than 60% of the pillars were seriously damaged at the base, and it looked like there was no other way to demolish the house, but considering that the roof structure was relatively healthy, we decided to try to revive it.
In the early stages of the restoration process, we often questioned the decision we had made, but as the process progressed and the roof was sealed, the path to completion of the work gradually became clearer.
The contrast between the old and new materials, which was almost unimaginable at the investigation stage, began to take shape, and when the work was completed, it was revived into a unique, simple, but beautiful house that exudes individuality.
Accept uncertainty, carry it with you, and continue to gain new perspectives along with the questions, rather than seeking only answers to questions
"See, hear, and understand everything, and never forget"
This is a famous passage from Kenji Miyazawa's scribbles, but "see, hear, and understand" here may refer to the power of acceptance and tolerance(negative capability).
"And never forget" to continue to be together.
The natural human attitude of "asking questions" and the ability to skillfully wrap up and carry around the form of a "question" as we move towards a direction that will give us even a little peace of mind.
