Meet #YCON Tang 💫 From driving taxis in Thailand to spending 3 months as a Buddhist monk, Tang has lived many lives before becoming a beloved lifeguard at the Embarcadero YMCA. And trust us, his energy is unmatched. 🌊 In this reel, Tang shares one of the many roles lifeguards take on beyond the pool. Because at the Y, creating safety also means creating connection. Tang was selected for the Healthy Living Award through our Asian Pacific Islander Leadership Network Staff Recognition Awards, celebrating staff members who help make the YMCA a place where everyone belongs. 💛 #YGSF #AAPIHeritageMonth #Belonging #ymca

What a weekend. What a community✨ Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Y for Youth Community Festival at Crane Cove Park. From music and movement to shared moments of joy and connection, the day reflected the very best of what it means to come together. We’re grateful to all who showed up. Families, neighbors, partners, volunteers, and staff. You all helped create a space where everyone felt welcomed and celebrated. Our youth are a powerful catalyst for what comes next. When we invest in their growth, confidence, and sense of belonging, we help shape a brighter, more hopeful future for us all. This is the promise of the futures we share — and together, we carry it forward. #FuturesWeShare #Belonging #YGSF #YforYouth #ymca

Meet #YCON Minh Le 💛 Minh is the Assistant Teen Coordinator at the Chinatown YMCA, where he shows up every day with a deep commitment to uplifting and empowering young people. Through mentorship, advocacy, and care, he creates space for teens to feel seen, heard, and supported. This month, our YCONS are being recognized through the Asian Pacific Islander Leadership Network’s Staff Recognition Awards — an initiative led by one of our Employee Resource Groups, which help foster belonging across the YMCA of Greater San Francisco. Minh was selected for the Youth Development Award, a reflection of the impact he makes in the lives of the youth he serves. Our YCONS are Y icons. They are the people who bring our mission to life and help make the Y a place where everyone belongs. #Belonging #AAPI #YMCA #aapiheritagemonth

This is what community care looks like💙 At the YMCA of Greater San Francisco, we know that well-being takes many forms. Sometimes, it’s the warmth of a familiar face, a moment of conversation, or the reassurance that you’re not alone. Sometimes, it looks like access to nutritious food. Each week, our food pantries support more than 6,900 people across San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin counties. Since 2020, over 10,000 households have turned to the Y not just for groceries, but for care, connection, and a sense of belonging. As food insecurity continues to rise, this work matters more than ever. Together, we’re creating spaces where people can access what they need to feel supported, nourished, and seen. #Community #Belonging #FoodAssistance #YMCA #YGSF

Curiosity starts with a spark 🔬✨ At the Y, kids spark curiosity in programs like our new Summer Science Camp, diving into hands-on experiments, exploring big ideas, and making joyful discoveries. With Camp Director Mak guiding the way, campers are inspired to explore, learn, and imagine all that’s possible. But access to these experiences doesn’t happen on its own — it’s made possible by community. We are in the final days of our Annual Community Campaign, every gift counts. Your support helps the YMCA of Greater San Francisco continue to reach over 10,000 youth everyday across 15 branches and 131 program sites, giving more families the chance to experience programs that inspire confidence, curiosity, and connection. Donate today and help ensure more youth can experience the wonder and joy of Y programs. 🔗 in bio! #BestSummerEver #DonateToday #StrongerTogether #YMCA #giving
