NOT-YET (part 1) — re:turn
7 months into my MFA at the AA school, AAIS 25 presented our first public event at Stone Nest in London!!! Performing again as a dancer and being part of the behind the scenes was a thrilling and memorable experience, I’m so proud of our small company of 12!!!! Thank you to our AAIS tutors, Stone Nest and our collaborators, a special thank you to our dancers, what a privilege it was to dance and work with you! ❤️✨
Next stop, Færderbiennalen in Norway!!
happy graduation!! i had a great first year in the uk at uca completing my bfa in interior design, meeting the best group of designers that make every gloomy day in the uk a little bit better. my year in canterbury has been hectic but incredibly fulfilling - pushing the boundaries of creativity, refining my skill set and exploring different areas of research within the design world.
for these past 2 years away from dance, i can say that it was the right decision to take a step back and allow myself to heal. ID and dance are such vastly different areas of focus, but i’ve also learnt that they’re not so different in a lot of ways. italy and canterbury has allowed me to really slow down and appreciate the things around me more, while dance will always be my favourite form of artistic expression.
i’m so immensely excited to share that i will be attending the AA school of architecture’s MFA in spatial performance and design program this coming fall - to be able to combine both of my passions, work with other creatives and moving towards more production & direction! in some way, i always wanted to be part of something bigger than myself, artistically speaking, and never wanted to fit into a neat little box. so while it isn’t completely what i used to do, i’m returning to my first love on my own terms and on a larger scale. lastly, i want to take the time to thank my parents for being my biggest supporters, and never limiting how big my dreams can be. exciting projects are on the way ⭐️
with sophomore year being over, i’ll be taking a break from dance for the next year. while dance has always been the number one priority in my life and my biggest joy, it has taken a huge toll on my physical and mental health. this decision has been on my mind for a while now, and i’m still not sure if it’s the right one. i’ll be leaving uc ccm to take a gap year for the next school year. i’m taking the next year to pursue other passions, getting myself back into a healthy routine and exploring my identity outside of dance (+ finally healing all the injuries i have).
i’m not sure if i’ll return to dancing or america, but thank you everyone for being on this journey with me. i’m so grateful for what dance has brought to my life and all the people i met in the process. everyone at ccm has been nothing but warm, kind and accepting, i have so much love for my cincy ballet family 🫶🏻 as sad as it is to leave, i’m excited for what’s to come. what a privilege it was these past 4 years to do what i loved in america ☺️
to dance, you’ve been the love of my life for 17 years, and you’ll always be a part of me. this is goodbye for now 🤍

so incredibly honoured to have performed in @dancegraciedance ‘s “beat as one” & @mandiweitzdance ‘s “scintilla” for this year’s student choreographers showcase! i’ve had so much fun telling their stories as well as sharing a part of my own through their talented choreography, so much love to everyone in this program ❤️
happy belated new year! with the next semester starting on monday and to start off 2023, i wanted to share a bts practice video from esmeralda’s entrance variation 💜
