Some moments from MAMU (2024), directed by Aephie Huimi Chen @aephie_huimi
We made these clay figures together in Aephie’s flat in London, loosely inspired by Amis pottery. We spent a lot of time at the same table, talking, making. This way of working and sharing continues to feel important to me.
Grateful to have been part of this project and to have met everyone involved.
Spent a rainy day in the home of Kawai Kanjiro in Kyoto.
Thoughtfully designed by Kawai, the house gathers his practice into a single, lived space. Pottery, carpentry, poetry, calligraphy, architecture - each part of a practice shaped through living and making. Craft is not an object here, but a condition of daily life.
Not simply a studio preserved, but a life articulated through materials.
