A fantastic morning spent on Table Mountain. Tom is visiting family in Cape Town from the UK. The weather from the bottom did not look great, however on top the weather was perfect. We climbed Staircase in and around the cloud with gaps every now and then that provided some great views of Camps Bay. @robomono had a great time.

A quick trip to the Cederberg to climb with some buddies on Wolfberg. The drive in was not the greatest this time round seeing the devastation of the fire that occurred before Christmas. A stop at Algeria to give the hard working firefighters, volunteers and local staff some supplies (40kg bananas, 100L water, 20L Oros)
I went for an MTB ride in the afternoon and got pretty close to the fire, turned around and headed back to camp.
The next day we had an early start up to the Wolfberg cracks, we did Eclipse that is a fun easy route up. David did some great leading and did a variation on one of the pitches that could bump the grade up to around 16/17. A great intro to David’s first trad route in the Cederberg. We topped out and walked down to arrive back at camp just after lunch time. “Hey there is apparently a big snow storm heading over New Hampshire”, “Let’s take a drive & go find some snow”, “why don’t we head up Mt Washington?”, “sounds like a plan” we spent the night at a buddies family lake house on Lake Sunapee, early morning departure to My Washington. We opted for the Jewel Trail that takes you to the top. We got to just below the summit of Mt Clay when the weather turned really bad with close to white out conditions & increasing wind (google Mt Washington weather). We decided to turn around & head back down. As we entered the first again we spotted Bobcat spoors that were on our trail to close to the carpark, we also saw moose tracks. It was a cold snowy day on the hill, however we enjoyed every minute of it. A quick trip to The Gunks for two days of exploring, climbing, chatting around a fire. Meeting climber from around the world, sharing stories. Witnessing the Autumn foliage is mind blowing with amazing colours as far as you can see. The Gunks is a fantastic place for climbing with easy access, well cared for crag with climbs of all grades. We ticked off a “Gunks Classic” - High Exposure, two pitches graded 5.5/5.6 - I will say routes in the US are little sand bagged and some climbers say it feels like a 5.7.
