last week i was awarded EOTY (Employee Of the Year)!!
a year ago, @plotnek and i set up The Company. at the time we both struggled with the constant self-motivation required as a freelancer. at The Company we take turn at being each other's boss. we attend Monday Morning Check-In's where we share with our week's work schedule and to-do's. as the boss, we make sure the employee manages their deadline but the Boss is also very generous with validation and encouragement - it's important that the employee know that they are doing an excellent job, really well done, because The Company wouldn't be the same without them. monthly, we meet in the pub for a In-Person Performance Review, where The Tie is given to the EOTM (Employee of the Month).
if you're a freelancer and would benefit from a highly performative but hugely beneficial structure, i recommend setting up your own Company. it's a Game Changer.
