This was a fun experiment!
I decided to do a small painting as a warm up for a larger piece. This is something Iāve seen a lot of other artists do, and always wondered what the process was like.
It was quite enjoyable, and I feel like I learned a lot. One interesting thing was that the process was not as I expected (identical, but with bigger brushes). I actually painted things in a slightly different order.
Iām very happy with both of these paintings! They each have their own unique character, despite starting with the same reference image.
