June 1 marks 4 years since I left home.
I came with uncertainty, left my son behind, and started over—my first job was waitressing. It wasn’t easy, but I held on to one truth: I am a designer, and I came here to build.
I chose to be intentional—invested in myself, found community through HYPE, and recently experienced something powerful through YEP’s 15th anniversary.
