South Africa's TV format @CarteBlancheTV published 'Extortion City', an exposé on the murder of my doorman Joe, extortion in Cape Town and its consequences. We filmed it during my final days in Cape Town just before my departure and following the sale of Beerhouse (on Long).
Mark Lifman must pay for his crimes, the new police minister, Senzo Mchunu, must take action and the story on extortion needs to end, whether it's in the inner city, the construction sites of our country or in the townships… If businesses continue paying for extortionists legal bills, we will soon all live in fear of our children being abducted.

It's raw, sometimes cruel and every pretty picture has a real back story behind it
Before shooting this picture there was the spontaneous idea of a sunset run to the pyramids (which had just closed the entrance gates) which turned into a horseback ride past mountains of trash and a dead horse lieeing in the sewage into the open desert where this camel was just waiting for this epic moment 🐫💛🏜️
Africa is not for sissies. 🌍 But Africa is what led me to find my yellow 💛 and it is forever part of my identity... 💛

Yesterday’s eye check sent me down a serious rabbit hole. What looks like abstract art is actually my retina. And: This is not just a pretty picture. Fundus photography and retinal imaging are used to screen for eye disease, track changes over time, and in some cases even reveal clues linked to broader vascular health.
What fascinated me most:
the eye is one of the very few places in the body where you can look directly at blood vessels and neural tissue in a living human, without cutting anything open.
The body is far more beautiful, strange, and information-rich than most of us realize. 💛✨
