Our Ellis Wood project involved creating two cabin typologies. The studio worked on a sensible response to the delicate setting of an ancient protected woodland, elevating the building structure and access off the ground, and keeping any disturbances to the flora & fauna to a minimum.

Our studio has been working on a sensible response to the delicate setting of a protected woodland, in an area of outstanding beauty, elevating all buildings and structures off the ground, and keeping any disturbances to the flora & fauna to a minimum.
The proposal makes use of reduced formal language, in reference to the archetypal typology of a wood cabin, and takes inspiration from the vernacular architecture of the area in the form of the traditional Kentish oasts.

Currently going through planning with the Lawn Mews, an exciting residential development of 5 high quality terraced houses. The name references “The Lawn”, a villa that occupied the space circa 1872, when Clapton was known as the Farm on the Hill. Located on a derelict garage plot, the scheme is informed by the industrial typologies of the adjacent Tram Depot site.

We recently designed a small new built development of three identical London houses, aptly called the Triptych, and we were asked to extend our design to the interior, creating a soft, timeless character. This is what we came up with for the living space, which will be completed in the next couple of months - sneak peek progress photo included. Our design for a villa with beautiful panoramic sea views in Skiathos has been realised after a few years in the making. Built on a steep slope, the space is developed on three different levels, with ample external space and a pool.

The modest materiality of the villa is designed to allow the focus to be on the surrounding nature and the water element. White render and stone reference the local vernacular and blue stone tiles in the pool give water the hues found in the beautiful Skiathos sea.
