Just for fun, here's all the ways BP's championing of "The Carbon Footprint" was a ploy to undermine sustainability efforts:
— It shifted the responsibility for pollution onto individual end users, not the companies producing it, selling it, and going to great lengths to shape a system that would force individuals to *keep* using it.
- It intentionally conflates *energy* with *pollution.* The problem isn't using energy to get to work or heat your home — it's pollution from *burning fossil fuels* for energy. The sun makes energy without pollution. Pollution problem solved.
- It creates a false equivalence of sustainability and sacrifice. Drive less to reduce your footprint! Turn down your thermostat! Use less energy! Again, the problem isn't energy use — it's pollution. And in reality, clean energy is VASTLY more abundant than fossil fuel energy.
- Maybe worst of all, as Zainab notices, BP actually gets the positive benefits of talking about sustainability, while lying to you, confusing you, undermining the shift to clean energy, and trying to continue profiting at your expense.

What a week at Netflix is a Joke Festival! 🌍🔥
I'm back from a brilliant time in LA where I was honoured to host Adam McKay's Emergency Board Meeting Slumber Party for @yellow.dot.studios .
I came away brimming with inspiration, having worked alongside expert comics like Robby Hoffman, Gianmarco Soresi, Beth Stelling and many more, not to mention meeting and introducing a brief address from Adam himself, director of Don't Look Up! and writer of Anchorman.
Climate comedy is not an easy nut to crack at the best of times, but everyone did great and can't wait to see how it may rear its head again in their future sets.

Since 1954, oil executives have been lying about the damage they knew their product was causing, and rigging media and government to block their (cleaner, cheaper) competition, and shield them from accountability for the damage they knowingly caused.
With a predicted record El Niño arriving in a few months, you’ll soon be hearing about (or experiencing) even higher insurance rates, food prices, healthcare costs, gas and electric bills, along with more extreme weather damage, illness, and death.
