For this look I wanted to channel not just an English aura, but you know something that reflects luxury and aristocratic femininity. And so for this look the foundation was “Tweed and Pearls” In Old English Styling, pearls were never loud, they were an indication of luxury and generational wealth and so it made perfect sense for it to be foundational for this look Layering them around her neck and wrists was intentional, incorporating them as stud earrings was deliberate and the icing on the cake was infusing the same pearls as buttons. For the Tweed I initially wanted a light coloured tweed and was leaning towards lilac but the moment I saw this fabric(via picture), I was totally sold. I told my client “that’s the one we’re going with” I don’t think you should check for something else. O M O B A Y O N L E A phone call at 8:13am on Tuesday, 9th of December Client: “I don’t think I’ll be having this photoshoot again, I have nothing planned and it’s already so close to my birthday.” Snow: Are you sure? Give me the day to curate something and a solid plan for execution. Then we’ll see if it works for you. The curation and planning of this look is what I’ll prefer to call “speed styling” cause it was rapid and very challenging, especially since it was 100% virtual After coming up with the two looks and approval, I started sourcing vendors for the fabrics, and eventually everything else including the exact ponytail for the look we were going for (I’m very detailed like that😂) and best believe all these got done in 2 days. Now I was out of Lagos, so my client did the shopping herself after getting the vendor list and the rest……….. is history The outcome was FANTASTIC, absolutely worth it!!!!! When I was styling this look, I knew one thing for sure, we were not about to do “old school mummy” We were going for Fresh. Clean. Powerful. Grown but Youthful And so we went with this crisp white two-piece linen pant set featuring a structured collar, fly front placket and cinched waist style. This look gave “I’m living long and well, and I’ll look good doing it.” And then the pink low cut? Oh that was the plot twist Soft but spicy. The kind of detail that says, “I’m 60, surpriseeeee!” Because at the end of the day 60 shouldn’t always signify retirement or slowing down it is infact refinement, glowing up with ease and zero stress . I said Mummy we’re going to dye your hair strawberry shortcake and she asked what colour it was When I said PINK…..…….. you could only imagine her reaction 🤣.
