I was fortunate enough to meet Jairo last year when @alihornung paired us together at the annual @glimmerofhopefdn Gala. At the time, I didn’t yet realize how deeply our friendship would shape my journey. Jairo’s fight had a way of humanizing my own “fights” and reminding me what truly matters.
Over the past year, our bond has only grown stronger surrounded by so many kind, big hearted people right here in Rhode Island who showed up authentically and without hesitation to support his family. That’s what this community does. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring peace, strength, and comfort to Jairo’s family, especially the amazing community team at @rhodeislandfc who stood alongside them every step of the way.
We were all together yesterday to ring the bell on Jairo’s final treatment day- a moment that none of us will ever forget. One thing is certain: Jairo has inspired us all, and the friendships formed through his journey will last a lifetime.
God bless Glimmer of Hope for the incredible work they continue to do. God bless our Rhode Island public servants - our police, fire, nurses, doctors and the compassionate team at Hasbro Children’s Hospital for their tireless care. This is Rhode Island at its best. Year 2 as your in game host and year 1 in our forever home is officially in the books! Getting to return to The Bucket as the face of a club I love and have grown with these last few years has exceeded my wildest dreams. Getting to do what I love, with folks who have become like family, in my own backyard?! It truly gets no better than that. As I say often, the interactions and relationships I’ve built in my role are far and away the best part of the gig. Getting to be apart of core memories for young folks and welcome people from near and far to my city is an honor and a privilege. This is a special community and I’m thankful to play the role I do within the community. Forever anchored!!! 💙⚓️💛
On September 17th at 5:01 pm our little love 🐞 entered the world. Olivia Jade Flanagan. She is happy, healthy and perfect in every way imaginable. We’ve been enjoying her and soaking up every moment of parenthood thus far. We cannot thank our family and friends enough for their love and support through this journey and especially these last few weeks. An extra special shoutout to Mom, for not only crushing her entire pregnancy but handling labor and delivery with poise, grace and strength. We’re beyond thankful for our new blessing and the opportunity to be Olivia’s parents. ❤️
🗣️Big mama!!! On behalf of our baby girl and I, we gotta thank you for being the absolute best mother to be over these last 9 months. You’ve handled everything that pregnancy has thrown your way with calm, grace, strength, positivity and an open mind. You’ve already been the best provider and caregiver to Olivia and prioritized her wellbeing over anything else. Yours included often times. I’m beyond blessed and thankful to be on this journey with you. Truly couldn’t fathom doing it with anyone else. Any minute now our love 🐞 will join us in the physical and I can’t wait to love your little mini me in all the ways I love her mama. THANK YOU!!! I love you. ❤️👏🏽🤰🏽
Last night was an impactful night.
A few months ago my husband @edbradyri was partnered with a young man named Jairo at @glimmerofhopefdn annual fashion show hosted by the inspiring @alihornung .
That magical night moved everyone who was in attendance as many influencers and community leaders came together and raised over $100,000 for childhood cancer. The Brady family was fortunate enough to meet Jairo, a smart and funny 14 year old boy who liked History, sneakers, and The Eagles. He is in remission for bcell leukemia and currently still in active treatment.
Our family was so moved by Jairo and Ali’s mission we asked if we could stay involved in mentorship forward with Jairo. Ed and Ali reached out to the new professional soccer team in Pawtucket at @rhodeislandfc and let them know about Jairo’s journey - they wanted to help! Well I still am in awe of what happened next.
Our night started with The Pawtucket Police community division giving Jairo a personalized police escort to @centrevillebankstadium . We were greeted by the ownership and management group at the entrance & Chip the mascot. Jairo received a full behind the scenes locker room tour where he got to spend time with the players, coach and captain before the game with the tour hosted by the team’s passionate and kind emcee Joshua “Flanny” Flannigan. The captain Koke Vegas told Jairo before the game if the team won he would be invited back on Saturday and forward! Jairo got to spend time playing music at the DJ booth before the game with DJ Mike D, he received a custom RIFC jersey with his favorite number 16 from the team, and he got to watch warm ups right on the field!
This was truly an incredible effort by so many people who wanted to help this young man’s fight. We could not be more thankful for the entire team at RIFC for making this young man’s night through authentic human kindness! Jairo and his family look forward to returning back again this Saturday night as the team’s new lucky charm and we hope to see the teams winning streak continue as Jairo also continues his fight forward! One thing for sure is - we are now all friends and fans for life! 💛⚽️💙

365 days ago we said “I do.” I’ve never been more sure of a decision in my life and looking back a year later, the only thing I’d change is that I wish I’d said it even sooner. Being your husband and partner is an honor and privilege. Not something I ever take for granted and I feel the same amount of happiness and pride in putting my ring on today as I did a year ago. In year 1 we’ve made tremendous strides, none more important than growing our family and preparing to welcome our baby girl Olivia. Marriage has been a constant blessing and with our biggest blessing on the way, I can’t wait to become parents together and watch our baby girl become your mini me. Thank you for choosing me and us. I still cannot find the words to describe yesterday. It was indescribable. You had to be there to truly understand it. I must’ve heard “Flanny!” a hundred times from the crowd yesterday and each time gave me chills and had me smiling ear to ear. To be embraced, championed and loved by my city and community means the world to me. And to my club, @rhodeislandfc . Two words. Forever Faithful. Thank you to each and every one of you who were at @centrevillebnkstadium yesterday. You made this Bucket boy’s dream come true! 💙⚓️💛
