Fashionable late as usual …. but a little pinch me moment.. okay a huge pinch me moment. If only the little girl who had a collection of fashion magazines growing up only knew that one day we’d be featured.... and the biggest one of them all... VOGUE!
I was over the moon to be featured in Vogue Australia, Vogue Japan, Refinery29 and Fashion NZ for my street style look at this year’s Afterpay Australian Fashion Week. I wore an all-sustainable outfit , including a jacket by Australian designer
@eden.may_tal , crafted from upcycled denim with each piece individually sourced from landfill and hand-embellished with buttons. My bag was made entirely from recycled soda can lids.
That said, this year’s AFW felt noticeably different. As someone who deeply values this industry, it was disheartening to see so many talented creatives left out. The fashion space is becoming increasingly exclusive and while evolution is part of the game, AFW should still be a platform for celebration, inclusion, and community.
Here’s to hoping future seasons bring more diversity, more sustainability, and more of the creative energy that makes Australian fashion so special. There’s so much talent here , and it deserves to shine.
And finally here’s to all the talented photographers who saw something in my outfit and captured it, thank you for turning a moment into a memory I’ll treasure forever! ⭐️
