✨🍑 33 and autistic! 🍑✨ Last July there was a wonderful doctor at Manchester Health Clinic who recognised autistic traits in me, when I originally went for help with something else. Since then it’s been a long 7 month wait for my assessment and finally, my diagnosis! There have been a LOT of feelings along the way, meltdowns and months of uncertainty in who I am and have been my whole life ☁️ Those questions have answers, giving me tools and understanding as to why I work the way I do. All thanks to the support from loved ones and the doctor that saw something in me that deserved a chance in exploring further 💕 Never give up, you can do it ❤️

From the minute Bebo was born, I have been obsessed with him. And him, me. For 16 years we were happiest by each other’s side. He was the perfect mix of loving, funny, goofy, gentle and snuggly. He loved cuddles together, right to the end. When I’d pick him up after he’d been looked after, people would be in shock as he would completely light up and transform after seeing me. I would too. I never felt whole without Beebs by my side.
I got him when I was 18, I almost had him here the same time I’d been without him. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to being without him. He was my sidekick, my soulmate and always, always my number one. He was my best friend, we were inseparable. My go-to little guy and I will continue to be forever obsessed with him. He saw me through the hardest time of my life, and all the other tough times where only being near him would help. He instantly soothed me. It was pure luck that he was also exquisite to look at and the cutest looking dog ever, receiving compliments from strangers about his beautiful coat. He was iconic.
I held him for the first time only an hour after he was born, sleeping in the palm of my hand. As a puppy he resembled a little grey seal with lots of whiskers on his chubby cheeks and his big black bum spot. He quickly developed the technique of nudging you with his nose to carry on stroking him if he stopped, a true diva. He was diagnosed with dementia around 4 years ago but still stayed happy, hopping around and making everyone smile. It’s been hard to see him deteriorate but I’d do it all again and then some for him.
As my Nan Val has put it - he was spoilt and loved. He was THE most loved dog in the entire world and always will be.

Liking my home again 😂, spending time with my three year old best friends and their parents, noticing nice things, FINALLY finishing my hearth tiles, frank! and Holly, NEW! KITCHEN! An amazing week in Venice, matching with Penny, becoming a co-parent with Lois, going back to the eye patch and seeing a scan of my brain 🧠!!! Girl dinners, studio fun and Chris ending the year Golden 🧡

A year without Beebs ❤️ and what would’ve been his 17th birthday!
Here he is in the palm of my hand, an hour old 🥹 At some point I want to illustrate each of our years together - prepare for some questionable outfits from me..!
I feel hesitant to share how much I miss him - some people might think ‘he was a dog and pets pass away’. I’m not sure why outsiders opinions matter so much to me on this, but they kinda do.
A year on I still can’t explain our bond in a way that feels justified. It was just always me and Bebo. This house is a lot quieter without his tip tapping feet and I wish he was here for cuddles on the sofa 💕
