silent beneath the sky
Album cover i made for New Jersey post hardcore/ screamo based @ourwitsnj
Mid last year, Mark reached out to me about creating an album cover with a slightly monochromatic theme, a city abandoned and long forgotten by its inhabitants.
After reading his notes and all the lyrics, I immediately grabbed a small torn piece of scrap paper, made a quick sketch, and sent it over to him.
This artwork was built entirely from that first sketch. Nothing really changed, except the river that originally split the city in two. we replaced it with a railway line running through the middle of a wild forest that slowly reclaiming the city over time.
I rarely create extended covers like this, one continuous image for both the front and back. It was a project that really pushed me. I worked on it for about three weeks, even going past the actual deadline… I’m sure Mark and the vinyl pressing team were pretty annoyed about that 😂 But in the end, we were all genuinely happy with how it turned out.
