Just came back from a very interesting trip to Sri Lanka, paradise island and cultural melting pot with fascinating history, great surf and amazing food. We decided to stay despite the Easter terror attacks. It was a bit scary at times, but we felt that thats the least we could do to support the locals, who are completely dependent on tourism. We were rewarded by much needed digital detox, empty line-ups and almost private tours of otherwise crowded tourist spots. We learned a lot about global inequality, politics of religion, fake news and psychology of terror. It made our routine problems feel trivial. We’re grateful for all the great people we’ve met. Special shoutout to the Sri Lankan army, who really stepped up their game over the past weeks.
