Here's what no one tells you... Tall stitches don’t end with treble crochet, you can make your stitches as tall as you want by simply increasing the number of yarn overs at the beginning.
If you love working form a center pull skein but hate when it inevitably collapses into a mess? You can easily rewind it back into a nice and neat center pull ball, without any special tools or winders.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1:
While holding on to the tail end of the yarn, begin to wrap it around your thumb and pointer finger, in a figure-8 manner, 12-15 times (do not wind too tightly)
STEP 2:
Pinch your pointer finger and thumb and slide off the yarn, bringing both loops together and forming a ring.
STEP 3:
While still holding on to the tail end insert thumb back into the center of the ring, and begin to wind the yarn around the ring. Slowly rotate the ball as you continue to wind.
Do not let go of the tail and do not remove your thumb from the center, as you wind.

HDC - half double crochet
MR - magic ring
SC - single crochet
SLST - slip stitch
ST - stitch
[ ] - repeat stitches inside.
{ } - stitches inside are made into the same stitch/space
PATTERN
ROUND 1: MR, CH 2 (does not count as st), 12 HDC into ring. SLST with 1st hdc to join, CH 1.
ROUND 2: {HDC, 3DC} into 1st hdc, HDC, CH 3, SLST into 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, SLST in next hdc, [SC, 2SC in next st] repeat 3 times, 2HD, DC, CH 2, SLST in 2nd ch from hook, CH 2, SLST back into same st as last dc. Fasten off.
