“Three musicians from Taranto dedicated to upholding and exalting the concept of rituality in music by exploring the ancestral relationship between man and nature. Steeped in the ritual healing sounds of their home region they emphasise and celebrate the multi-ethnic components of that tradition: the common rhythmic matrix coming from Africa, elements from similar musical traditions from Sicily and Romania, and the spiritual connections to Amazonian tribes using natural elements in ritualistic healing. The word Yarákä symbolises the four elements in the Tupi-Guarani language. Uniting instruments from all these seemingly disparate cultures, Yaràkä create spellbinding, trance-inducing music paying homage to Taranto’s rich history as a cultural crossroads, while seeking to re-awaken awareness of the importance of a more direct communication between humanity and the natural world, a dialogue that is increasingly obscured and ignored by modernity.”

Nés à Tarente (Pouilles), Yaràkä tissent une musique rituelle et vibrante, entre traditions ancestrales et explorations contemporaines. Un voyage sonore où l’humain dialogue avec la nature, porté par des rythmes venus d’Afrique, de Méditerranée et d’horizons lointains.
Le nom Yaràkä est une synthèse des quatre éléments - eau, air, feu et terre - en langue tupi-guaraní, l’une des grandes langues des peuples amazoniens, qui incarne pour le groupe un modèle d’équilibre entre l’humain et son environnement.
Une expérience hypnotique, entre souffle, percussion et énergie primitive, qui fait résonner les mémoires des cultures croisées.

Yarákä inviterer os ind i et lydunivers, hvor naturens fire elementer får stemme. Rå percussion, middelhavsmelodier samt afrikanske og amazoniske rytmer væver sig sammen i musik, der både hvisker og antænder.
Hver sang er som et ritual – en bro mellem det jordiske og det hellige. En koncert med Yarákä er en rejse ind i det sanselige, det rytmiske og det dybt menneskelige. Musik, der ikke bare skal høres, men mærkes i kroppen. 🎶
