From our hero we learned about the river ILI that
During the height of the crackdown, Uyghurs and Kazakhs wrapped their Qurans and historical texts in plastic and cast them into the ILI river. Otherwise government authorities would burn their heritage to ashes, they hoped the current would carry their sacred culture safely downstream.
