The 2 months of preparation for an eight-days festival has finally come to an end. It is probably the most challenging project I had ever produced and managed. Unknowingly, I was dragged into what felt like a toxic marriage that awaits for the divorce paper to be signed. Apart from the weeks of swearing coupled with exhaustion, the most rewarding part of this journey is the ability to witness the enthusiasm and experimentation spirit of these young and emerging artists across various disciplines. I can’t help but be reminded of the old Substation. And it was exactly in this photo that I knew this festival has the potential to play a part in filling the gap for these artists who are hungry to experiment and test bed ideas. (the festival brought together more than 100 self employed artists and arts/cultural managers) As I walked out of the “lawyer office” today, I knew I paid for a very valuable lesson with my time, energy and health. And it left me with these questions: 1. What constitute to “doing good”? And when does “doing good” become “doing bad”? 2. What does the word “community” one often hears in a pitch mean? 3. “We want to help the arts” - when does the “help” become harm? Will revisit this again … for now, I have to get back to my thesis writing. 20 days left! Programme in photo: They Walk Amongst Us, produced by Shireen Abdullah (@live.and.untold )

Winter is coming… And Spring will arrive in 2 weeks time. Every year around October, the leaves from this particular tree will turn yellow and fall off in November. This beauty feeds my soul and imagination yearly.

The journey of Puppet Origin Stories: Persona Paradox has come to a close. Over the past 8 months, we've been fortunate to establish new connections, share valuable insights and techniques, and bear witness to the synergies born from the collaborations between diverse disciplines. Our gratitude to @theoliverchong and @fingerplayers for their gracious invitation, which enabled us to introduce contemporary circus into the rich tapestry of puppetry. And to all our friends, thank you for your wonderful support. ❤️ Images courtesy of The Finger Players Photos by Crispian Chan I Am, Who I Am Not Directed by Xyn Foo Performers: Lina Heng, Nachos & Myra Loke SYNOPSIS In a workshop, three creators create a masterpiece that defies their imagination. Their vision, once confined to the realm of imagination, materialises before them. But when the creators unexpectedly find themselves transported to the world they breathed life into, they are met with a startling revelation: Sponge Girl, the embodiment of their artistic dreams, is not what they had idealised. I Am, Who I Am Not explores the creators’ journey of self-discovery as they confront and question their own beliefs and perceptions. ARTIST’S MESSAGE As we traverse a life profoundly influenced by cultural norms, personal preferences, societal expectations, and the intricate tapestry of our values and aspirations, we confront a fundamental query: Who am I? This inquiry delves into the intricate interplay between external influences and our self-concept, shedding light on the profound forces that shape our understanding of ourselves and ultimately, the core of our unique identities.

I really really really need to find the headspace to read more. So many books I need to read, should read and wanna read. But I keep forgetting everything I read.

. Enjoying some Chinese green tea (龙井茶) and cookie while being eaten alive by mossies on a lovely raining afternoon. Interesting cookie.. there’s an egg yolk in it and yet it doesn’t taste like salted yolk.

. What a pleasure to be doing some leisure reading - opens up a whole world of imaginations. Unlike the dull and plain academic reading. Nineteen Eighty-Four — George Orwell
