This evening, celebrated The First Lady of Motown (Mommy C), 65 years of Motown, The Miracles Rebirth, and Smokey Robinson stamping it with his essence & presence. I can't believe there will never be another Heroes & Legends Awards, and I'm glad I attended the last one, but the beat goes on an we are now passing the baton. That means the music will never stop to the beat of the drum. I welcome the challenge of finding the next hits because we are tribe and ready for it. Independent artists: the music industry was built on mentorship.
The greats didn’t figure it out alone.
They learned from someone before them.
Early in his career, @adrian_miller was put on game by legends like Manager “DJ P” Stewart, his “once-upon-a-time” mentor and was also Coolio’s manager during the global rise of Gangsta’s Paradise.
Adrian was simply “DJ P” Stewart’s assistant at the time, an invaluable experience that gave him a firsthand look at how a record can grow from a demo into one of the biggest songs on the planet.
Adrian will always give “DJ P” Stewart props.
Under DJ P’s mentorship, Adrian learned how to hustle for artists, something he later did for some of the biggest names in the world.
That same spirit of mentorship is at the heart of the Hustle Sold Separately Feed.
