I’ve always respected Porsches. I just never loved them.
Yes, they’re engineered to near perfection. But to me, they lacked the visual drama and dynamic bravado I looked for in an “exotic” vehicle.
Enter this Carmine Red Cayenne GTS with the Lightweight Sport Package—essentially a detuned Turbo GT with its center-mounted titanium exhaust, carbon fiber roof, and houndstooth seats.
The realization that this was an entirely different animal hit the millisecond launch control engaged and I was savagely catapulted from 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. Couple that with the thunderous exhaust note and absurdly lively rear-end, and you have a Porsche that actually has true personality and soul.
I’d even have it in red.
a snowfall did nothing to stop @gearheads.nyc ’s season opener last Sunday!
you’d expect little to no cars to show up on a snowy day, but on the contrary, variety was the name of the game!
I found myself enthused by the wide range of cars that pulled up. On one end, high-end supercars like the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante, or the McLaren 720s brought some energy. And on the other ? Iconic classics like a pristine Porsche 944, a blacked out BMW E46, or the highlighted BMW E24 6 Series brought a blast-from-the-past vibe to the function.
Overall, the turnout was shockingly solid & the snow added a nice view that you don’t get to see too often. Another 10/10 meet in my books.
