One year ago, I had the honor of creating and presenting my interactive audio installation Daydreams at @tokyo_geidai in Japan. The project was part of my bachelor’s thesis on the aesthetics of interactive spatial audio. The talented Saho Yoshimoto provided me with some of her beautiful ceramic sculptures containing her personal memories and daydreams. I translated these into dynamic soundscapes that changed as visitors walked through the exhibition space. My goal was to show our unique little ways of engaging with the world around us.
In November, the installation even won the German Multimedia Prize mb21!
I’m very grateful for this intense yet rewarding experience and for everyone who supported me along the way— last, but not least the curry in the cafeteria🍛
