Happy 3rd Birthday to our Sweet Pea, Isaac
The absolute apple of our eye.
This past year, youâve grown so much.
You have so much personality, character, and spunk!
Youâve explored new places
Learned new tasks
And continue to capture our hearts.
Happy birthday my little cheeky monkey.
March 21 (3/21) is World Down Syndrome Day, and as we are Team #TheLuckyFew we wanted to share and celebrate some of the incredible differences of children with an âextraâ chromosome! đđ
* Small Steps, Big Wins: Their development often follows a âstep-by-stepâ path. They show us that breaking big goals into small pieces leads to massive success.
* Visual Superpowers: Many children with Down syndrome are strong visual learners. They often have an incredible memory for faces, places, and pictures. Using signs or visual schedules helps them shine!
* Inclusive Magic: When they learn alongside their peers, everyone grows! Their classmates learn patience and empathy, while they gain confidence from their friendsâ âpeer modeling.â
* The âSocial Bridgeâ: Learning isnât just about booksâitâs about people. These kids often have high social-emotional intelligence, picking up on feelings and social cues that others might miss.
* The âCan-Doâ Grit: They might have to work a little harder for some milestones, but that builds unbeatable determination. Their âstrong-willedâ nature is actually their greatest strength in mastering new skills!
So on March 21, wear your brightest mismatched socks to celebrate the beauty of being unique! đ§Śâ¨

Some of the most powerful moments of motherhood happen outside. đż
Fresh air.
Connection.
Community with women who understand the journey.
We are honoured to partner with @hikingmomnetwork , a global community supporting pregnant and postpartum moms through nature, movement, and authentic connection.
âMotherhood is a season of immense growth, vulnerability, and transformation,â shared Seven Summits Snacks CEO and Co-Founder Kristyn Carriere. âWe believe women deserve support that nourishes their body and spirit.â
Together, we will be supporting Hiking Mom Network events across Alberta and beyond, bringing purposeful fuel to moms gathering on trails with their babies and building a community rooted in strength, resilience, and shared experience.
âAt its heart, The Hiking Mom Network is about building a global community of women who believe that motherhood belongs outdoors,â says founder Adrianna Skori. âThis partnership with Seven Summits Snacks, another local brand with mothers, nature, connection, and health at its core, reinforces that every mom belongs outside. Together, we can support moms in feeling stronger, more confident, and more connected.â
We could not imagine a more meaningful partnership.
Hereâs to community, confidence, and fuel for every step of the journey. đ¤

Progress for women in business and sport hasnât happened by accident. Itâs been built through persistence, resilience, and the willingness to keep showing up even when the path wasnât designed for you.
Every founder who raises capital, every athlete who pushes past limits, and every leader who challenges the status quo helps create more space for the women coming next.
Today weâre celebrating the women changing industries, elevating standards, and proving that strength and leadership take many forms.
And weâre reminded that the most powerful thing we can do is continue to support, invest in, and champion women.
Happy International Womenâs Day. đ

Happy 6th birthday to us đđĽłđđŤđŤ
Six years ago, 7 summits snacks started with a simple thought between two sisters who were training hard
âCan we fuel with đŤâ?!
Weâve bootstrapped this business.
Packed orders ourselves. Figured things out the hard way. Built it as a family â sister-owned, female-founded, and truly family operated.
Over six years, weâve been named
đď¸Best Snack in Alberta.
đ fuelled three Guinness World Records.
đľWeâve earned thousands of $$ in grants and funding
And through it all, weâve grown because of the people who believe in what weâre building.
Thank you for continuing to support us!

We went skating today â¸ď¸
Heâs skated about 5 pushes on his own before figuring out itâs a bit scary. Then I thought it would be a good idea to start training for a new role with Disney in Ice ⌠what do you think đ¤Ł

After another wild ride into mom-trepreneurship, I took a moment to pause and reflect on the journey travelled in 2025. đď¸đŤ
When I think about mountain trekking, looking back down to see where you came from is such a powerful feeling. Only second to standing at the bottom, looking up, and saying, hey, I did that.
If you want to read about the switchbacks, the climbs, and the free-wheeling descents we rode this year, grab your favourite functional chocolate with a hot cuppa and check out our 2025 Recap using the link in our bio, and join our newsletter to get updates like these right in your inbox!
As we close out 2025, I feel more than ever that it is time to return to the vision, mission, and values of 7 Summits Snacks, and to stay connected to the community that helps carry us forward. Make sure you follow along so you donât miss out on the various engagement opportunities we have in stock for you in 2026 - chocolate taste testing and all!
Wishing you all a healthful and adventurous 2026 ahead!

2025 in a nutshellđ
⢠Started the year with zero chocolate because we had no manufacturer.
⢠Flew to the UK with zero chocolate, a toddler, a sister, and grant money that needed spending.
⢠Went back 6 weeks laterâthis time with my partner. Still with the baby.
⢠Asked our moms for money to payroll⌠AND childcare.
⢠Drove 3â5 hours multiple times just to âbe in the room.â
⢠Took a full-time job so Jason could steer 7SS.
⢠Bought our own bars from Safeway to sell at an event đ¤ˇââď¸
⢠Asked Mom to drive 400 km with more bars when we sold out anyway.
⢠Sent Jason to a U.S. tradeshow with a broken collarbone.
Building a brand isnât glamorous. But it is gritty, relentless, and full of heart.
And weâre just getting started.

A note to the women entrepreneurs out thereâŚ
Who are building businesses, relationships and families.
We are a unique breed of resourcefulness and resiliency - we are on a quest to spin straw into gold - and do!
Our generational upbringing as women allows us to spot an unmet need because we feel it to our bones. We are taught to read the room and provide the things that people donât even know theyâre missing before they ask for it.
We bring that deep insight into the innovations we are creating
We know it takes a village and when we realise we need help, we ask- because weâre already wearing too many hats in both our business and lives (as parents, partners, and carers)⌠which then allows us to really build businesses that are community driven. Built with connection, purpose, and impact- naturally
And we foster inclusive success- lifting others as they rise and creating space for more women to lead. Because we get tired doing it all and we recognise the power that we have as women to shine, and create platforms for that to happen
Happy Womenâs Entrepreneurship Day

@7summitssnacks
Todayâs family hike was Palliser Slide.
Jason and I wanted to take advantage of a nice day in the mountains to get some exercise. I hadnât seen this one come up as a suggestion before, but it was the perfect choice for a quick bit of exercise with Isaac.
Totally high reward views, although itâs a bit further of a drive. It was NOT suitable for the stroller, but we managed with a few shuttle runs of ditching the stroller, moving Isaac down the path, and then going back to drag the stroller across the rocks đ
We let Isaac find his feet a few times, as well @7summitssnacks #kananaskiscountry #hikingwithkids #downsyndromeawareness #explorealberta #downrightperfect #
Isaac and I ticked a hike off my list today that Iâve been wanting to do for a few years now. We went to Lake Agnes from Lake Louise and it was an amazing way to spend the afternoon!
It was a good level of difficulty for carrying this 27lb monkey on my chest. I couldnât manage the Tula carrier on my back solo. FYI carrying them on your front is much more challenging on the back.
The 8km round trip was perfectly snow packed and magical on the eyes. Hiking in November meant we could drive to the start and not have to consider the bus transfer. It also makes me think that carrying on to the Beehives would be a great early winter option.
We did have some tears as the boots we tried for the first time did a terrible job of keeping his toes warm. And I think that heâs definitely only okay in the structured backpack now.
I love taking this little guy to these beautiful views
