Στο Διεθνές Διαγωνιστικό Τμήμα Μυθοπλασίας, φιλοξενούμε το "Go Outside and Hug a Tree" της Irina Alexiu από τη Ρουμανία. Όταν μια ανερχόμενη μουσικός χάνει την έμπνευσή της μέσα στην υπερ-ανταγωνιστική hipster σκηνή, ξεκινά μια μαγική, ρεαλιστική περιπέτεια που την οδηγεί σε ένα αλλόκοτο δίλημμα: να ανακτήσει τη δημιουργικότητά της προσφέροντας μια θυσία.
Η ταινία φέρει την υπογραφή της Irina Alexiu, μιας σκηνοθέτιδας με διεθνή αναγνώριση σε πλατφόρμες όπως το NOWNESS και το Dazed Digital. Μετά από οκτώ χρόνια στο Λονδίνο και σπουδές στο Goldsmiths University, η Alexiu επιστρέφει στη Ρουμανία για να δημιουργήσει ιστορίες που συνδυάζουν το δράμα με την κωμωδία και μια έντονη σουρεαλιστική πινελιά. Με συμμετοχές σε κορυφαία φεστιβάλ όπως το Encounters και το TIFF (Cluj), το "Go Outside and Hug a Tree" αποτελεί μια αισθητικά ιδιαίτερη και παιχνιδιάρικη ματιά στις υπαρξιακές κρίσεις της σύγχρονης καλλιτεχνικής γενιάς.
In this year’s International Fiction Competition, we present "Go Outside and Hug a Tree" by Irina Alexiu. When a rising musician loses her spark in a hyper-competitive scene, she embarks on a magical-realist quest that leads her to a bizarre crossroads. This whimsical story explores the lengths one will go to reclaim their creative soul.
Directed by the talented Irina Alexiu, whose work has been showcased on NOWNESS, Dazed, and The Guardian, the film brings a unique surrealist touch to the screen. Combining her London-honed craft (Goldsmiths University) with a distinct Romanian perspective, Alexiu delivers a vibrant, genre-bending portrait of artistic struggle. "Go Outside and Hug a Tree" is a visually captivating reminder that sometimes, the path to inspiration requires the most unexpected sacrifices.

Congrats to Irina Alexiu on her @premiilegopo 2026 Awards nomination. She co-wrote and directed So Refreshing, a delightfully strange exploration of identity and intimacy.
