CLOSER AWAY | 500T 16mm “This film is a personal artwork that explores the theme of acceptance. It delves into the tension between self-adaptation and resistance to conformity. Through this project, we aim to convey the complexity of searching for inner light and the personal transformation that comes from that journey. Inspired by the works of Jodorowsky and Parajanov, working within an analog film aesthetic was crucial to maintaining the two-dimensionality and accentuated color motif for each scene, emphasizing the division and conflict between the protagonist and her surroundings.” Director Dmitry Khmelnitsky Closer Away was shortlisted at Berlin Commercial Festival 2024.
