How do you turn a fresh perspective into a real edge in cinema?    Xin Alessandro Zheng shows it loud and clear in the new NABA Meets Alumni episode! A director, editor, and screenwriter, he began shaping his vision during the BA in Film and Animation at NABA Milan, building a voice that now reaches far beyond the Academy.    His journey kicked off with “Where the Leaves Fall”, the graduation short selected for the 35th Venice International Film Critics’ Week – SIC@SIC , screened at festivals across Italy and abroad, and released on major streaming platforms.    From there, he pushed further into music videos, commercials, and broadcast production, sharpening his style. Somewhere between the crowded beaches of Rimini, Bioshock Infinite, Guy Ritchie and Zhang Yimou movies, ginger tomato sauce, the Venice Mostra and life in Lambrate… Today at 4pm and Sunday at 4:00 and 6:30pm we present EL VIAJE in Milan. @xinalessandro takes you to a nearby “island,” and during this walk through the city, he connects his personal story to the urban landscape. It’s about human and non human fluxes, borders, identity, belonging and freedom. This performance is presented in collaboration with @basemilano . Thanks to @lindipietro for the invitation and trust, and to @agnesedacol , the Base team and @milanomediterranea_mm for making it possible. The format is inspired by an original idea developed within the Colectivo Utópico. The piece is rewritten and adjusted to the performer’s personal story and the context of the performance. XING LONG 1989-2023 Leo e Sara, fratello e sorella, si ricongiungono dopo anni vissuti lontano per un’ultima cena di addio al vecchio ristorante di famiglia in procinto di essere venduto. Un’ultima occasione per guardarsi indietro, prima di disfarsi del passato. After many years, the two siblings Leo and Sara reunite for a final farewell dinner at the old family restaurant. One last chance to reflect on past memories before the restaurant is sold and closed for good.
