This part is almost ritualistic. The purpose of including resin is to emphasize the permanence of it all. Sealing in our inevitable fate if we don’t make a change while simultaneously symbolizing what we’ve essentially become… plastic
Today’s process focuses on creating textiles for my smaller format pieces. Weaving and gluing them individually to create cohesion could be jarring so I found it to be better to create larger textiles that I can cut into smaller sections to place on the structure. Thanks for joining 🤙🏾
Had my own derby day at home 🤠 instead of a mint julep I had a Negroni because I’m a big gin drinker 🥃 Hope you’re having a good Sunday, I’m clearly entertaining myself 😂😂 The painting is available $400 and it’s yours. Chaps not included.
As a result of the previous poll, I have decided to go with the Bantu knot for the figure. During this task I have discovered that I am not very good at styling any type of hair… sorry to my future daughter. Anyway, book your appointments at your own risk, you may leave with a 2nd degree burn and less hair than you started with 😂😂
Side note: This piece is ready for the final steps (resin pour)
Sometimes the shit just doesn’t move me 🤷🏾♂️ you change it and go about your business. Not a big deal unless you make it one. This goes for art and life in general.
Last night at @buffalostate was the 19th annual @buffalostaterunway and BenGala held by @buffalostatefashion department. A great fundraiser for a great cause. Always an amazing event, shout out to @erinhabes for another successful run and to Grace who used our water soluble material and her own research on algae and other biodegradable materials to create her line, it was inventive and fashion forward. The Junk Free Skin/renew team will always be a part of this Buffalo cause.
Fun Fact: I LOVE anatomy, my favorite course in grad school was gross anatomy. I love the human body and how it operates. So I’m sharing some info on where your food goes after you eat it. You’re welcome ❤️ this is still a work in progress but it’s coming together 😁
Here’s a description of my next body of work. So if you see me collecting trash with my makeshift gloves mind your business 😅😅 jk
I’m in studio todos los Dias so feel free to stop by and talk sustainability with me 😁✌🏾🌱

I usually use @gamblincolors cold wax medium for my background. I love the matte finish, the added texture, and how it allows my colors to go further 😁
Don’t be shy. Most artists only go through galleries because it is a great way to showcase standout pieces in a blank space with what is expected to be heavy foot traffic. Do we like splitting the profits? NO. Do we enjoy adhering to gallery rules and etiquette? Not all the time. The pressure of pieces being “gallery ready” is not only expensive (iykyk) but it also takes away the potential buyer’s autonomy when it comes to personal style. So, reach out to your favorite artists, visit their studios, you’d be surprised with the experience and the prices.
