First time I heard this record I was walking through Berkeley on my way to Gilman for the first time.
The air already felt heavy with music history.
Like something magical could happen just by being there.
Then I pressed play on the demo Alex sent me.
Time stood still.

Raven was the first true alternative wrestler, and Extreme Championship Wrestling was the first alternative promotion—pulling from the same underground energy that bands like Jane’s Addiction, Ministry, Melvin’s, Dinosaur Jr., and KMFDM were channeling at the time. His band tees weren’t just merch, they were signals—pieces of a deeper identity that blurred wrestling, music, and something spiritual underneath it all. That spirit is something that’s always lived at the core of Deep Love—a belief in culture as religion, in sound & image as something bigger than entertainment. Raven didn’t just exist in ECW, he embodied a cultural shift where rebellion, emotion & art collide. That same frequency is what Deep Love’s built on.

Needle Guy EP was born in 2025, in a dream Mike Power had watching Dylan DJ in a small San Francisco club on a hot summer night. The dream was since developed over a long period of months all around the world a journey that culminated in a transcendent trip to our favorite place in the world, Japan. Japan was a dream Sonny put forward over a year ago to us, a dream to take over the city - make music with our friends, eat the best food, bond & cook in real time & in the moment. Dylan and him created on the stage, in the car, the hotel, the streets, wherever inspiration led them. Needle guy was our theme of that trip. We all knew something special was within it the first time it was played in the car off an iPhone speaker. We tested it at the club. They tested it at the arena in Kobe. And now it’s out for the world. Great music takes a great journey. I love the journey that music takes us on. Very grateful to our friends and partners for all their hard work to get us to this point & so proud of Dylan as he steps into this next chapter of his musical journey.
