Honoured to be a finalist in the @nationalemergingartprize for photography!
This work honours the feminine energy of those who’ve carried and cared for us, the quiet matriarchs of queer life whose strength, support and love have long gone unseen.
Congratulations also to all the other amazing artists who were part of this great exhibition 💕💕

The “QueerBook Class of 25” reimagines the traditional high school yearbook through a queer, editorial lens, focusing on alternative, queer individuals who challenge mainstream school stereotypes.
Inspired by a love of stylised portraiture, fashion, and the themes of identity and belonging, the project responds to the absence of visible queer representation in nostalgic school imagery.
A glossy ode to chosen family, self expression in styling, and the people that made this possible, in front of and behind the lens. A full labour of love.

These are images from my book that follows my friend Rico, her journey of self-identity and the creation of her art. My photos bring together Rico’s creative process and how its evolved alongside her sense of self.
This story isn’t about dramatic changes or big statements; it’s about the small, subtle ways that identity influences style and personal growth.
Through portraits, scenes of day-to-day life and her social influences, this book captures who Rico is now and her use of art to express how she sees herself.
This project would not have been possible without the incredible generosity, strength and openness of Rico. Thank you for sharing your story time and spirit 💕💕💕

A fun personal project, with cheap second-hand bags as our starting point, making them the star instead of a throwaway accessory
