2/2 Plot Your Pet was last issue’s community challenge, and the results were incredible. Artists used plotters, code, ink, and paint to turn beloved pets into machine-made portraits, each one packed with personality and process. From dense line work to experimental algorithms, these works show how much character can emerge from just a few marks. 👉 The final slide reveals the next challenge!

More from the abstract collection. What I love about this kind of art is that you are setting up a system and then get to be surprised by what comes out of it: #1: "Twinkling Glances", #1 of 1, $185-$74= $111! #2: "Fringing Flower", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! #3: "Walking Apart Forever", #1 of 1, $85-$34= $51! #4: "Achieve Enthusiasm", #2 of 2, $85-$34= $51! #5: "Genuary 15", #1 of 1, $175-$70= $105! #6: "Rapt Soul in Thine Eyes", #2 of 2, $85-$34= $51! #7: "Save Honour", #1 of 1, $100-$40= $60! #8: "Mad and Deaf and Blind", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! #9: "Wish to Go", #1 of 1, $125-$50= $75! #10: "Inspire Madness", #1 of 1, $85-$34= $51! If you've been thinking about picking up a piece, now's the time! A lot of people have been taking advantage of it, and every little bit has truly been so appreciated; it really does help so much! Everything is 40% off and once they're gone, they're gone. Everything is the last, or only, of its edition. DM me or get ahold of me directly if you're interested.

Switching gears today to the abstract side of what's available. These pieces started as purely coded explorations/generative systems - before being translated into the physical plots you see here. Many of them used super awesome and boutique fountain pen inks and were made with various novels techniques, like dipping a paint brush into the ink to create an irreproducible organic quality. This is some of the work I'm most proud of from a technical standpoint. Each one represents solving a specific problem or discovering something unexpected (one of my favourite aspects of generative art!): #1: "Pavement and Stars", #1 of 1, $170-$68= $102! #2: "Art of Misery", #3 of 3, $85-$34= $51! #3: "Plot Party, Day 5", #1 of 1, $135-$54= $81! #4: "Pine for Laughter", #1 of 1, $85-$34= $51! #5: "Moonlit Floors", #2 of 2, $85-$34= $51! #6: "The Dream of Home", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! #7: "Bastard to Time", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! #8: "Grooves of Change", #2 of 2, $75-$30= $45! #9: "Keen Desert", #4 of 4, $85-$34= $51! #10: "Nothing Bounds", #2 of 2, $85-$34= $51! Same deal as before - 40% off, everything is either the last of its edition or a one-of-one. DM me or contact me directly if you'd like to grab something.

I've never asked anyone for support before, so making these posts is honestly pretty challenging for me. But I know I've got friends here who've been following for a while, and maybe a 40% off sale is just what you've been waiting for! ;) 🙏 More from the weird/surreal side of my collection: #1: "Where the Lovers Eternally Flew", #1 of 1, $135-$54= $81! #2: "The Garden of Leaving", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! #3: "Hail Me, Gentle Ghost", #1 of 1, $140-$56= $84! #4: "Brighter Worlds", #2 of 2, $95-$38= $57! #5: "Might Have Been", #1 of 1, $150-$60= $90! #6: "Might Have Been, Pt. 2", #2 of 2, $135-$54= $81! [Or both for $150!] #7: "Passion Expires", #3 of 3, $95-$38= $57! #8: "An Orchid", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! #9: "Nature's Mistake", #1 of 1, $135-$54= $81! #10: "Transient Opportunities", #1 of 1, $85-$34= $51! DM me or contact me directly if you're interested in anything!

I'm running a massive 40% off sale on what I consider to be my best plots still in inventory. I've been between jobs for a while now, and everything here is either the last of its edition or a 1-of-1. I made the decision a while back that I won't be recreating plots I've already made anymore, so until an upcoming website refresh is live, I'm asking that you please DM me or contact me directly. I'll be posting another set each day for the next handful of days, so please keep your eyes out (and share!) if something here isn't what fits your vibe. This first set leans into the weird and surreal - pieces that emerged from exploring the stranger corners of my mind: #1: "Loss and Victory", #3 of 3, $135-$54= $81! #2: "Shadows and Starlight, Pt. 2", #2 of 2, $95-$38= $57! #3: "Pilgrim of Eternity", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! [It's been my phone wallpaper ever since I created it] #4: "Cunning Livery", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! [This is the OG artwork that the Sunflo'er shirt was made from!] #5: "Built in the Eclipse", #1 of 1, $135-$54= $81! #6: "Good Time Coming", #1 of 1, $135-$54= $81! #7: "Quietness", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! [Inspired by a poem by Jim Bourey] #8: "Poetic Pains", #1 of 1, $135-$54= $81! #9: "A Deeper Woe", #1 of 1, $95-$38= $57! #10: "That I Could Know Again", #1 of 1, $100-$40= $60!

This is the seventh and final piece from the 7-part series I created for @yellowsun.coffee back in September. My favourite of the bunch :) I wanted to bring another aspect of home and connectedness into the series, so I plotted the Great Mosque of Sana'a. I really enjoyed learning about that part of the world when I wanted to find out more about it; it felt like the right way to close out the collection. This was my best experiment with the dip pen technique in yellow ink. I plotted it with a 0.5mm dip pen on black paper, letting the ink pool and layer organically as the pen returned to refill itself. All seven pieces are on view at Yellow Sun Coffee in NYC! #Mosque #YellowInk #DipPen #PlotterArt #WendtArt

This is the sixth piece from the 7-part series I created for @yellowsun.coffee back in September. I was going for a cold, tundra-like feeling with this one; something that reminded me of where I grew up. :P The entire piece is plotted as one continuous curvy line; traveling 140 feet through the composition in about 24 minutes. I plotted it in black ink with a 0.3mm pen, then hand-coloured the sun and landscape. All pieces are on view at Yellow Sun Coffee in NYC! #Tundra #ColdSun #PlotterArt #Axidraw #WendtArt

This is the fifth piece from the 7-part series I created for @yellowsun.coffee back in September. This one was particularly meaningful to create; it's NYC, which is home for both me and Yellow Sun Coffee, rendered as the Statue of Liberty silhouette against a radiant yellow sun. I really liked the blur between abstract and literal in this piece. In the context of the series, where the yellow sun is something that unites us all no matter where we are, having it set behind such an iconic symbol of home felt right. This piece uses two layers built from lines constructed via a vector field, plotted with a sailor hocoro dip pen that refills itself with yellow ink after set distances. The contrast between the matte black paper and the reflective yellow ink creates this interplay where the piece looks different depending on the light and angle. It took about 28 hours to complete. All pieces are on view at Yellow Sun Coffee in NYC! #StatueOfLiberty #NYCArt #DipPen #PlotterArt #Axidraw #WendtArt

This is the fourth piece from the 7-part series I created for @yellowsun.coffee . Like the third entry, this one uses the same hand-colouring technique; I plotted three monochrome layers with a rOtring isograph, then hand-coloured the sun and water to bring organic warmth back into the work. This one took about 3.5 hours to plot with a 0.3mm pen, traveling 586 feet through the layers. All pieces are on view at Yellow Sun in NYC! #PlotterArt #MountainLandscape #NYCArt #WendtArt

This is the third piece from the 7-part series I created for @yellowsun.coffee back in September. After exploring the dip pen refilling technique on black paper for the first two pieces, I shifted to white paper with a rOtring isograph for this one. The composition shows the sun over a turbulent sea, and I wanted to introduce a more organic intervention; I hand-coloured both the sun and the water to bring warmth and life back into the work. The ink I used has a subtle golden sparkle that catches the light beautifully. It's a small gesture, but it transforms the piece and creates a bridge between the mechanical precision of the plotter and the human touch. This one took about 13 hours to plot with a 0.3mm pen, traveling 1,260 feet to create the dense radiating rays and textured seascape. All pieces are on view at Yellow Sun in NYC! #WendtArt #PlotterArt #CoffeeAndArt #NYCArt #Axidraw

This is the centerpiece of the 7-part series I created for @yellowsun.coffee back in September. At 25.5" x 19.625", it's much bigger than the first piece, and I really felt like I nailed the settings for this dip pen refilling technique with these first two pieces. (Though different papers accept inks differently, so they all require their own testing to get the sweet spot!) Like the first piece, this sun is built entirely from the characters that spell "Yellow Sun"; layered until the ink pools into something organic. The sailor hocoro dip pen refilled itself after set distances, taking about 15 hours to complete. This is the first installment of a 7-part series I made back at the beginning of September; it was created for NYC's best new coffee shop, @yellowsun.coffee ! I wanted the overall theme of the series to reflect the idea of the coffee shop, that there is a unity amongst all of us, no matter where we are; the sun is above one of us somewhere. I knew I wanted to try some new techniques out for this; partly because I have a constant need to explore, and partly because I knew I wanted to do at least half of the series on black paper, which traditionally is a harder constraint to work around. This piece was constructed by having a sailor hocoro dip pen return to a well to refill itself with yellow ink after a set distance. The composition is very simple as a safe entry into the series, but is secretly a little more complicated behind the scenes; the entire plot is made from the characters that make up the words 'Yellow Sun'. You would never be able to tell from looking at the final piece as the ink runs together and creates organic and natural layering, but it was a starting point I ended up being really happy with! #DipPen #SailorHocoro #Axidraw #Mountainscape #CoffeeAndArt #NYCArt #GenerativeArt #PenPlotterArt #PlotterArt #CreativeCoding #CreativeCodeArt #WendtArt
