Posting about work is kinda lame, but I was crossing a stage today looked over at this and thought “if I were to tell 10 year old farm boy me I’d be working in Hollywood I would have said ‘no wayyyyy’”.
I was 10 in 1990 so I would have most likely said “Oh snap and a bag of chips” or something equally stupid.
Baby Roel looks like he just got off a 12 hour shift at the factory. A pacifier dangles from his lips as he takes a break from hustling pool at a local daycare. He likes the lady in charge. She keeps the milk warm and the fruit snacks cold. Its a good thing he learned to walk since his stroller license was revoked after getting milk-wasted at his 1st birthday party. He swears he was fine but mom thought he was babbling a little too much and hauled him down to timeout. “Stop hanging out with the playground riffraf”, his dad tells him, “go back to preschool and we’ll get you into a good kindergarten”. But that’s not the life for him. “Action is the juice”, Roel thinks to himself as he heads back inside to gamble a few more toy cars before nap time.
This Halloween I dressed as a fictional behind the scenes character who body doubled a fictional on camera character based on a quasi true story and went to work on a real film set shooting scripted dialogue. It was very meta.
Another night in the jungle recording sound for a paranormal time travel WW2/Vietnam mashup for German television. No big deal. #25FPS @xfactor.dasunfassbare@friendlyfilmworks #soundmixing
Go stream “The Summoned”, an amazing movie I had the pleasure of sound mixing. Support indie filmmaking, so they make some $ and hire me again. BONUS! Swipe right to see the gnarly beard I grew during 5 cold weeks in the woods. #thesummoned #hlgstudios #xyzfilms
