Can your kiddo survive the Wylde? 🌿🔥 During our “Surviving the Wylde” camp week (June 8-12), campers ages 5-12 work together through obstacle courses, team challenges, puzzles, campfire cooking, and outdoor adventures designed to build confidence, communication, and resilience. It’s hands-on, collaborative, and a whole lot of fun. Spots are still available, but filling up quickly! Learn more about this camp and our other weekly summer camps at the link in our bio.

Happy International Compost Week! Did you know Wylde Center has offered community composting since 1997? What started with compost bins at Oakhurst Garden has grown into a long-running community effort across multiple gardens — powered by staff, volunteers, and neighbors committed to reducing waste and caring for the environment. Since 2015, Wylde Center community composting efforts have helped process more than 205 cubic yards of material (!), keeping food waste out of landfills and turning it into nutrient-rich compost for the soil. Over the years, we’ve expanded our compost systems to meet growing community interest, including upgrades that improved capacity and reduced issues with vermin. We’re also excited to see larger-scale composting efforts continue to grow locally through programs like Compost Now and municipal composting initiatives in Decatur and Avondale Estates. Today, Wylde Center continues to offer community composting for members at our Oakhurst, Sugar Creek, and Edgewood gardens — and partners with Compost Now to help make our events and programs more waste-free. 🌱 In the comments, tell us: What joy does composting bring to your life or garden?

A huge thank you to Fiserv who came to Wylde Center’s Hawk Hollow site to give back to the community. They donated wood for and built Aldo Leopold benches for an outdoor classroom space, they donated and planted native plants for a pollinator garden, and they weeded out invasive kudzu and wisteria. The Hands On Atlanta team, who organized the event, were also a huge help. We couldn’t do what we do without our community partners. —Tamara, Hawk Hollow Site Coordinator

One of our staff members made this pretty spring wreath as inspiration for Wylde Wreaths Spring Edition! Every wreath turns out a little different — that’s part of the fun! We’ll have all the materials ready for you, plus plenty of guidance along the way. No experience needed — just come spend a couple hours creating something by hand and enjoying time together at Wylde Center. Wylde Wreaths kicks off Thursday at 6:30 pm and there are still a few spots available. Our second session is this Saturday, May 9 at 10:30 am. Sign up at the link in our bio. ✨ Bring a friend ✨ Make it your own ✨ Leave with something uniquely yours
