Houston, the time has come for me to announce my farewell. If you haven’t already heard, I’m starting a new chapter in Seattle at the end of this month with @shrimpdiva How do I sum up 9 years in Houston? I hadn’t exactly planned on living here before life brought me this way, but I’m awfully glad it did. I’m grateful to have been asked to lend myself to so many different musical projects. I’ve had the privilege to grow musically, and play alongside such incredibly talented people. Thank you. You all know who you are. Here I met @jrzoso . Together we got to fully send ourselves down the path of guitar repair. I plan to continue fixing guitars, and having a go at building some of my own. He will carry on the shop along with some help from @loualouise . I have no doubt they’ll continue to kick ass for years to come. I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished in the first 3 years of @dangdecent_guitarrepair If you want to continue following along with my builds and repairs, I will soon be posting more on @everymannguitars We’re throwing a party at The New Potato @thenewpotatohouston next Saturday 1/17. I am happy to finally introduce to you all: my first completed prototype of a shape I’m calling the “Dreamliner”. This one’s body is made of black limba, the neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard macassar ebony. The whole guitar is finished in oil. I like the process of building a guitar, but I love the idea of making a guitar for an individual. This one I made for my man @jrzoso . This design gives me room to tailor to the individual player’s preference. It will accommodate any combination of two or even three pickups. It can have a fixed bridge, or a few different top-mounted tremolos. It can be kept natural like this one, or painted one of 56 different colors. I have a version of this guitar in mind which I would consider to be “stock”, but that’s the Dreamliner my way. Shoot me a message and we can plan out a Dreamliner your way. At this point, I am still young in my building career. I want to make as many of these as I can to further streamline my process, and get them into people’s hands. You may be surprised at the budget we can work within at this stage? If you’re interested and would like to own one, shoot me a message- and we’ll make it happen.

In 2024 I was able to complete my first experiment in building an electric guitar from “scratch”. Overall it turned out better than I honestly expected? While the whole process was totally new, the methodology was familiar from doing repairs for many of you fine folks full time for going on 4 whole years now. With the high likelihood of error in mind, one goal was to keep materials on the relatively cheaper side in case something needed to be redone. I splurged a little for some Fralin Jazzmaster pickups, and an AVRI pickguard off eBay because I like my tortoise shell in red, and because wiring happens after I’m done with the bandsaw and router. I’m excited to do more building in 2025! With thanks to @frettiemercury and his electric guitar 3D drawing course, one of next builds will be a prototype of my first “original” guitar which I think I’m in the final stages of designing. 2 years ago this major league cutie was visiting Houston from Seattle let me show her around town and little did I know I would immediately fall for her so hard, and that we would eventually reinvent our lives together. I receive the most joy to hear her laugh and see her smile, and I hope I can be lucky enough to keep doing that for many more years to come. I love you @annamalzzz - when I am with you I am home.

We accomplished a lot in the last couple weeks. Three great shows, house finding, and other stuff that I can barely wait to share.
