The New York City Central Labor Council-AFL-CIO held a rally at Washington Square Park and a march down Broadway to Foley Square to commemorate International Workers Day. Dozens of unions and organizations participated in the action, with many carrying signs in support of migrants and opposing ICE and war. Several organizations participated in a stationary unified, anti-imperialist contingent to greet the May Day march with drums, chants, flags and signs opposing all U.S. wars and defending resistance to U.S. imperialism. A nine-foot banner declared: “On May Day Defend Workers of the World – Fight ICE, Fight U.S. Imperialism.” A large foam core board read: “U.S. Workers Fight ICE & Help Defend: Cuba, Palestine, Iran, Venezuela & Lebanon!” Some of the groups that participated included ArmTheDollz, BronxAnti-War Coalition, Demilitarize Brooklyn Navy Yard, Mass Mutual Aid & Scientific Socialism, Palaver Collective, Pratt SJP, StopYourLiesNYT, Workers World Party, and People's Organization for Progress. In an address to the anti-imperialist contingent, Workers World Party First Secretary Larry Holmes stated: “May Day is about workers in New York, workers in every part of this country. But it’s also about the workers in Iran, the workers in Palestine and Lebanon, in Gaza and Venezuela and Cuba and every place that U.S. imperialism is targeting with bombs and war and starvation in a desperate effort to hold on to their empire, which is crumbling. So Long Live Palestine! Long Live solidarity! Long Live revolution. Workers of the world unite!" #smashimperialism #victorytotheresistance #longlivepalestine

Here in Buffalo we recognize that many of our allies, friends, and comrades play games like Dungeons and Dragons or Magic the Gathering as a way to de-stress after demonstrations or organizing sessions. The workers who make this stress reduction possible are in need of our support! Sign the petition today and demand Hasbro recognizes their union! /forms/uwotcletter

#MUMIAWEEK 44 years wrongfully convicted, 72 years of principled action. To celebrate Mumia Abu-Jamal's upcoming birthday, the Mobilization4Mumia (with the endorsement and support of numerous individuals and organizations) is putting on #MumiaWeek: 5 exciting events starting Sunday, April 19th to uplift Mumia's anti-imperialist mission, and invite our neighbors into the vital network of abolitionist work occurring in Philadelphia, PA and beyond. Trivia nights, art builds, film screenings, #MumiaWeek has something for everyone. The week culminates in our March of Innocence on Saturday, April 25th, starting at Malcolm X Park in West Philly at 2pm, marching all the way to the OneArt Community Center at 1431 N 52nd St, for a massive block party to honor the innocence being stolen from us by the carceral state, and the innocence we fight to protect for a brighter future. Please RSVP for the events at luma.com/mumiaweek. If you want to get further involved, wish to endorse the week, or uplift the voice of any community members affected by incarceration and state violence, please reach out to Johana at [email protected].

In response to the barbaric escalation in Lebanon — with the Zionist Entity launching the largest aerial assault on Beirut in the last 40 years — the Philly Palestine Coalition is calling for urgent mobilization tomorrow at City Hall to denounce "Israel's" bombardment of Lebanon and stand with the resistance on the ground in the South. Join us tomorrow to demonstrate our urgent outrage to Israel's attempt to sabotage the fragile "ceasefire" agreement. Hundreds have been martyred and thousands more have been injured as a result of this depravity that the U.S. and our local institutions continue to make possible. ALL OUT FOR LEBANON 🚨🇱🇧🇱🇧🇱🇧🔥 1:49 PM ❤️2
