“A Thousand Drops of Blood”

The piece was created in January 2026 (دیماه خونین), during a time when the streets of our homeland were filled with blood. Developed as an artistic response to the January 2026 massacre in Iran, it was performed by the workshop participants as part of let’s Edge-Raw کارگاه بریم اجرا Open studio In Toronto at Chill House, April 9–12, 2026.

Feeling overwhelmed by the state of the world, I returned to photos from our July 2017 trip to Iran. They reminded me of the profound beauty of my homeland and its people. They deserve the fundamental dignity of a peaceful life, free from the shadow of extremist leadership both at home and abroad.
