Remake Learning Days in West Virginia is underway! 🌟
Pierpont Community and Technical College welcomed families to its Culinary Academy this morning for a cooking class where attendees prepared savory and sweet empanadas and sourdough tortillas together.
The shared cooking experience taught practical skills, encouraged confidence in the kitchen, and introduced young learners to cooking, nutrition, and food-related careers.

Congratulations to our Program Manager, Canyon Lohnas, for earning first place at the @wvucahs Student Research Showcase! Canyon is a student in the Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Practice program. His presentation, "Replicating the What's Hot in Literacy Survey: Taking West Virginia's Temperature" identified the most pressing topics in literacy education across the state in 2025. The project was conducted with faculty members in the WVU Literacy Education, Reading Specialist Program. The WVPEC was proud to support this work through its Sparking Early Literacy Growth in West Virginia initiative and we look forward to its future applications.
