Dad laughing at a print that I made of “how it feels when guys in the lido choose to shower right next to your spot even though there’s tons of other spaces they could shower at”, which is probably all down to being keen to show off their armpits to me, maybe?

On Sunday 10 May @banksidegallery new Associate member Wuon-Gean Ho (@wuongean ) will be here for a Meet The Artist event, showing us more of her work and its processes. Come along and ask her questions about her practice and what it’s like as a newly elected Associate Member of the Society! Also at the gallery on Sunday, Anne Desmet RA RE (@anne_desmet ) will be holding a wood engraving demonstration, showing us the intensive skill that goes into creating one of these works. Anne will be signing copies of her recently published book ‘Wood Engraving, A Personal Approach’ which is available to buy in the gallery bookshop. Both events run from 2 – 4.30pm, are free and there’s no need to book, just turn up! Along with all that, you can check out the current exhibition, RE Original Prints, showing a huge range of works in printmaking by our current membership. Really happy to see my print on the cover on this brand new book, “An Introduction to Veterinary Humanities” edited by Alison Skipper, Ruth Serlin and Carol Gray… and… I’ve also written a short piece in it too (chapter 9!) called “Six Strategies for Building Trust in Veterinary Care” (gulp, hope it makes sense!) Tube strike meant for a day printing at home instead of the pilgrimage to see mum… so I pretended to be an industrious bee and spent the day on editioning (though I think I got the colour slightly wrong and only noticed after a loooong while… arghhhhh) anyhow it was a beautiful day for it, and dragon paw press was a wonderful collaborator… #diaryofaprintmaker #linocutbywuongean #printmaking #homeprintstudio #dragonpawpress

I’m coming to the realisation that there are some unhelpful hands around… ones that might (metaphorically, maybe) stab us in the neck with a pair of scissors or saw our legs off while we are distracted with other stuff. Or actively try to destroy those we love.
