🌱 That smell of freshly cut grass. It means spring is here, summer is coming—and for many teens, it means their first paycheque. Landscaping jobs can seem harmless. A bit of dirt, a tan line or two… what’s the worst that could happen? For Nathan Birtch, it was steep hills, heavy equipment, and a few frightening close calls. Like many young workers, he relied on luck instead of safety knowledge. But luck isn’t a safety plan. Before your teen starts a summer job or after‑school gig, take time to learn the real hazards they may face—and how to help them recognize risks and stay safe from day one 👉 https://wsps.news/kzy Because experience should build confidence, not close calls. 💚 #FirstJobSafeJob #landscaping #groundskeeper #groundscrew #summerjob

🎉 Our #summerstudents are here! Our summer students are here! 🎉 Excuse our excitement — we’re thrilled to welcome these 10 amazing students to #TeamBlue this summer. Over the next few months, they’ll dive into everything from health & safety, occupational hygiene, and small business support to digital marketing, events, human resources, business intelligence, and executive outreach. We're eager to benefit from their #freshideas and #newperspectives, and know they'll play an important role in helping advance our work. Cheers to a summer of #learning and #collaboration as we work together to put prevention into practice.

No one goes to work expecting not to make it home safe. Yet every year, workers across Canada lose their lives, their health, or their livelihoods due to unsafe working conditions. In 2024, this was the reality for 1,042 working Canadians. 🎗️ Today is the National Day of Mourning. A day to remember workers who have been killed, injured, or made ill because of their work — and to honour the families and communities forever changed by these losses. At WSPS, this day is deeply meaningful. Every number has a name. Every statistic represents a person with loved ones left behind. That understanding drives our commitment to prevention — so every worker can go home healthy and safe, every day. Join us in remembering — and recommitting to prevention: ▪️ Deepen your OHS knowledge ▪️ Wear your PPE ▪️ Report hazards ▪️ Raise awareness ▪️ Encourage others to do the same #NationalDayOfMourning #DayOfMourning #WorkplaceSafety #InjuryPrevention #HealthAndSafety #WSPS
