Recently wrapped up a week of filming for the BBC out in the cow pastures of Wisconsin, where we were introduced to the finer points of ruminants, soil, and supper clubs.
Pretty standard practice as far as sound goes so I spent a little time between departments, but I was excited to finally have a reason to switch my Zaxcom wireless from ZHD96 over to mono XR for the first time and test the range with some car to car through the alfalfa on the back 80. You’d be surprised which one did a better job punching through the cage of the Kubota’s.

When the director decides the polar plunge you’re filming is going to be a oner into a 20min interview in a sauna but doesn’t tell you.

Took me a little too long to find this old clip from a summer spent working on Twisted Metal with the fellas.
R.I.P. to the best Juicer to ever do it.
Noisy stills, clean sound.
Throwing it back to a windy day on the links at TPC Louisiana with the APGA Tour for CBS Sports.
We were stealing shots on a long lens most of the day, so I chose the Sanken CS2 for its excellent reach and rejection. Listening back, you’d never know cars were running laps at the hobby racetrack next door.
