Not the Lincoln GP I was hoping for but still got the photos on the cobbles I went for 😂 Luck was not on my side getting brought down in the neutral leaving me with one working brake and a very bent rear mech but I really saw the best of neutral service on Sunday including a push to get going when my chain dropped on the steepest part of Michaelgate 😬 Great day watching the rest of the women’s and men’s race and looking forward to coming back next year!

First race weekend of 2026 🚴♂️
Road race. No pressure. I just wanted to enjoy being back on the bike and see where my legs are at.
Safe to say… the sprint still isn’t there 😅. Since last winter, my focus has shifted more towards triathlon, and I can definitely feel that. Those punchy one minute efforts to chase a break, followed by a sudden switch back to riding zone 1 are not exactly my strength right now, but that’s okay. I’m not looking to drop my training just for bike racing, so it’s still swim, bike, run, and the whole body is feeling it. But honestly, loving it. Still haven’t chosen a middle or long distance triathlon race yet, so this weekend’s road race was the perfect way to feel some nerves and excitement again while I figure what’s next.

2 years ago this month I bought a £200 bike on a whim after pretty much losing the will to live as every other sport I’d loved became near impossible to continue after all my hip surgeries

Went into this race with zero expectations, wanting to start feeling relaxed, and just get myself back into the suffer fest that is the Nat A road scene.
Can honestly say that I enjoyed the race way more than I expected to! Come away feeling a lot more confident in myself, A lot of work still to do but excited to stuck into this season 💪🏼
