Sometimes a curfew can turn a listening experience into more of a party experience, but hey, as long as everyone had fun, right? Our second edition of @scenenoise x @wslaexperience at @ceryle.eg started intimate and tuned in. Somewhere along the way, it filled out, the energy lifted, and no one really felt like leaving. Soundtracked by South African DJ Karmerr on her Cairo debut, alongside local favorites Ramez and Omarino, the music held the room from start to finish. New faces met old friends, conversations carried across tables, and what began as listening, slowly turned into something a little more… lively 😉 Can’t wait to see everyone again for the next one.

This Thursday, April 2nd, SceneNoise and @WSLAexperience are collaborating once again to bring you a special high-fidelity sonic experience in Cairo, at Maadi’s Nile-side venue @Ceryle.eg into a dedicated space for intentional sound appreciation, continuing to actively push against passive music consumption, offering an alternative to a nightlife landscape that often favours spectacle over substance. This hi-fi experience will be guided by a carefully curated lineup of international and local artists. Johannesburg-based DJ/producer Karmerr will bring her forward-thinking blend of house and techno, joined by Cairo mainstays: Omarino, with his sophisticated sets that range from minimal sounds to house and ambient textures, and Ramez, who will guide listeners through his punchy, analog-tinged mixes of electro and house. The music will be served alongside a spread of Ceryle’s delicious bites. Apply to attend via the link in bio.

@SceneNoise and @WSLAexperience return to @Ceryle.eg in Maadi on Thursday, April 2nd, the second edition of our listening and dining series along Cairo’s Nile. The evening is centred around giving music its full attention, a space to slow down, connect, and experience sound in detail. From 7 PM till late (the event will be going on past curfew as the venue has a tourist license), Ceryle will be transformed with every corner of the venue curated to support intentional listening, from seating arrangements that encourage focus to subtle lighting that emphasizes mood over spectacle and delicious bites to indulge in in-between à la carte. The night will be soundtracked by South African DJ, producer and vocalist Karmerr, who will be making her Cairo debut. Her sets often explore progressive club culture and experimental electronic music, a techno-leaning sound imbued with playful, percussive rhythms and deep, dirty house tunes. Following suit are two of Cairo’s finest selectors: Ramez with his acid-synths-led mix that takes from disciplines of minimal, house, electro and techno, as well as Omarino, who is known for exploring a range of styles from ambient to techno.  Attendance is limited to maintain an intimate atmosphere where everyone has space to enjoy and connect. On Thursday 2nd of April, @SceneNoise and @WSLAexperience reconvene at Cairo Nile-side venue @Ceryle.eg for WSLA 2.0, marking the return of a unique event that puts the art of intentional listening first. Along the Maadi Corniche, Ceryle will once again be reimagined as a space for slowing down and listening, drawing from the high-fidelity focus of Japan’s Jazz Kissa culture and the communal power of the UK and Jamaican Sound System scenes. The evening marks the Cairo debut of Johannesburg-based DJ, producer, and vocalist Karmerr. Known for her ability to weave emotionally rich journeys through movement and rhythm, she brings a curation that is as eclectic as it is engaging. Joining her are two of Cairo’s own, Ramez and Omarino. Fresh off a feature on Milanese label Opal’s latest VA, Ramez has come to be known for a forward-thinking sound built of minimal, house, and techno - a sound that has taken him to stages across Egypt and Europe. Meanwhile, Omarino - a resident of Egyptian series Geeza - boasts an equally eclectic range, not least a particularly sophisticated brand of minimal house, which is just one part of a sonic arsenal that ranges from ambient to techno. Attendance is limited. Apply to attend now via the link in bio.

A look back at the first edition of WSLA, a collaborative series that prioritises quality listening and connection between @SceneNoise , @WSLAexperience and host venue, @Ceryle.eg , ahead of the event’s return on April 2nd. In a culture where music is often relegated to the background in favour of spectacle, the inaugural edition was conceived as a deliberate intervention. The focus was on the sound, allowing the selections of Masha Gasar, Trulson, Mamadoo, and Youssef Yasser to be experienced with intent. This high-fidelity appreciation continues with WSLA 2.0 on April 2nd, as we return Nile-side for a second chapter, this time featuring South Africa’s Karmerr alongside Cairo favorites Ramez and Omarino. Attendance is limited. Apply to attend now via the link in bio.

As we count down to WSLA 2.0 on Thursday 2nd of April, we revisit the debut edition that first introduced Cairo to a shared vision for intentional, high-fidelity listening. The collaborative series between @SceneNoise , @WSLAexperience and host @Ceryle.eg on the Maadi Corniche, continues its mission of stripping away the noise to focus on listening. The first edition’s musical programming featured two of Slovenia's most prolific selectors, Masha Gasar and Trulson. Coming from Ljubljana - a small but potent hotspot for electronic music - they arrived at WSLA unsure of what to expect from a Cairo crowd. As they reflect in the video, that uncertainty quickly turned into a sense of familiarity. They found an audience that mirrored their own commitment to the craft of storytelling. Despite coming from a completely different ‘bubble’ as they refer to it, the connection was immediate because the musical language was the same - a shared appreciation for sets that have depth and intent. WSLA 2.0 brings that same focus back to Nile Corniche on April 2nd, this time with South Africa's Karmerr and Cairo favourites, Ramez and Omarino. Attendance is limited to maintain a focused listening environment. Apply and find out more via the link in bio.
