Big (sad) news! It’s the end of an era — the amazing Catherine Polley will be leaving us next Tuesday. So what will we miss about Catherine? We’ll miss the familiar super‑quick footsteps announcing her arrival in the foyer. We’ll miss the huge laugh that you can’t help joining in with. We’ll miss the outfits perfectly coordinated to match the office furniture (see previous posts for evidence). But most of all, we’ll miss Catherine herself. For those of you who know Catherine, know of Catherine, or have worked for or with her, you’ll know that her knowledge and passion for the collections — especially the artists’ books (and the artists!) — is unmatched and she’s as wonderful to work with as she is knowledgeable. Honestly, if you looked up “art librarian” in a dictionary, there’d probably be a giant photo of Catherine. So here’s to Catherine, and the heart she brought to this place for so long.
