✨ HOW TO SUPPORT AN UNFUNDED SMALL PRESS ✨
... Even if you have no money to spend!
☀️
Written Off is a self-funded press. Like lots of other small presses, we find ourselves rejected by The Arts Council and other funding avenues, and we rely on your support to keep ourselves running. All of our current investment comes direct from our Founder and all of our revenue comes from the sale of books.
We have committed to doing more markets and in-person sale events this year, and these have proven fruitful - but we often get asked "what can I do to help?"
❤️
1. Like and share our posts - this increases our reach. We have 4000 followers, but sometimes our posts only reach 75 of them! Some of our writers find themselves shadow banned simply for existing and they really need your support in amplifying their work.
2. Our open mics are a valuable place to perform and listen to poetry. We love holding these, but we need your attendance for them to work - we would love to see you at the next one.
3. Share your experiences of our books! We love seeing posts with our little collections featured. Photos of our books and small reviews are really valuable. We will always share them, too!
4. Interact with us! We love a chat. Comments really do help raise our profile.
5. Ask your local bookshops to stock us: we are but one small press in an ocean of presses, and investing in us is always a risk. Let bookshops know that you want us! This works for libraries, too.
6. Buy our books! This is a mighty way to help us if you're able to.
💕
Huge love to everyone who has purchased from us this year. We really do love you.
I went to an awards show and I didn't win but I made some friends and found my purpose again // March 2026
Big love to @npwawards for the ticket and the lovely words; I was lost, but I honestly feel like I can see the way forward now. So many inspiring women in one room does something to the soul, it seems.

✨ THE SUNDAY QUESTION ✨
When you're reading a book or poetry collection, do you ever feel like the words are coming from deep within yourself despite being written by someone else? You can see your voice or experiences painted as clear as day on the printed pages.
We want to know, what one book or poetry collection do you wish you had written?

As the weekend draws near, we couldn't resist sharing a snippet from "Cineworld". We love the description here and can practically taste the sweet and salted popcorn.
Are you heading to the cinema soon? What are you going to see?
