One of the ways we keep the creative energy going in WYDB is by including special guests to the mix. Last night the incomparable @cece_lyra_agent joined our weekly Zoom and shared her insights into crafting an engaging query letter (among other juicy tips). Members were able to ask her questions about the industry, and even though Cece was honest about how challenging it is, we all felt super fired up. DM for more details!
One of the writers in our membership is way ahead of her word count goals, and another decided to start over from the beginning. I love that WYDB works for writers wherever they’re at. DM me if you’re interested in how the magic happens. ✨
I’m much more comfortable bragging about how brilliant the WYDB community is than posting something like this. DM me if you’d like to have a chat about joining our amazing group.
It's a bit violent but I do think you need to be tough-minded in the editing process. What do you think? Are there sentences or scenes that you can't cut even when you know you don't really need them?
Anne is wise. Listen to Anne. She also once said, "You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better."
