Happy 80th Birthday to my beautiful mom.
Long before I ever stepped onto a stage, she was already there — dancing through life.
I may not have inherited my dance moves from her… pirouettes still make me queasy… However my sense of humor, my integrity, my curiosity…definitely my curiosity…and my kindness and belief in the goodness of others undoubtedly begin with this woman I am blessed to call Mom.
Most of my friends know me as the clown. What they might not know is that my humor comes from her.
Whenever life got heavy and I started spiraling down emotional rabbit holes, she’d look at me and say with her distinct drawl, “Wayne… you’re either gonna laugh or cry.” And before I could answer she’d smile and add, “So I pick laughter. Just stay positive, Wayne.”
Every day I try to navigate life with the rhythm she gave me. I know everyone believes their mom is the best there is… but mine truly is.
She’s a one-of-a-kind, strong, funny, beautiful woman — whose love is unending, unconditional and resilient as the day is long; I will love her forever.
Eighty years of beauty, spirit, strength, and inspiration.
Mom, thank you for the laughter, the love, and the life you passed down to me.

🎪 ✨ The Grand Opening of SONGBLAZERS by Cirque du Soleil has unfolded, and it’s been a privilege to be part of this celebration of country music’s rich culture. Amy Tinkham, our Show Writer and Director, has beautifully crafted a show that respects and elevates the genre with genuine joy and creativity. Her profound leadership and artistic vision have deeply inspired me, and my respect and admiration for her work cannot be overstated. Working alongside Amy as I embraced the new challenge of serving as her Associate Director, while continuing my roles in comedy design and clown performance, has been a true honor.
I’m deeply grateful for the trust placed in me by Fabrice Becker and Daniel Ross. Immense thanks also go to Jaimie Selke, the only person I know who can be everywhere at once—she is truly a gift!

Today marks a bittersweet moment as I reflect on a memory I posted exactly 7 years ago—a cherished photo of my father and me at my brother’s wedding, bursting with laughter from a playful jab as the picture was snapped. I miss that belly laugh.
I’m currently here in Montreal - the city where I last saw him before he passed. He was visiting me while we were preparing to open “Volta.” He loved Montreal as much as I do… this place will forever hold a special spot in my heart. Now, as I conclude my time here, working on a new show called “Songblazers,” it somehow feels full circle. This city and its people has profoundly shaped my life, and being here again as I prepare for another career milestone intertwines the past with my present in a deeply meaningful way.
“Songblazers” is a country-themed show that he would have adored, reflecting his love for country music and culture. His spirit—full of laughter, love, and loyalty—is something I strive to embody every day. He taught me to treat people with kindness, cherish life’s simple joys, and yes, even to strategically cheat at Dominos when necessary.
Today, as I continue to grow and evolve in my journey, I feel his absence but also carry the pride of being his son. I miss him daily, yet feel his guidance as we prepare for our opening night in Nashville. He’ll be with us in spirit.
I just wanted to share this moment and express how I’ll never forget the incredible man he was. I hope to continue making him proud.
